You can earn credits when you travel!!
Travel is more than just fun. It’s about learning too—learning that can benefit you personally and professionally as a teacher. That’s why many teachers have used their learning from travel as one way to enrich their classroom curriculum.
The Heritage Institute recognizes the potential value in travel to expand your scope of knowledge and to provide fresh, exciting material for your students. Our Independent Travel Study Program will provide you a simple, academically sound structure to maximize the uses of travel for your teaching assignment.
Teachers in the past have used this program for language immersion, studying art and history of foreign cultures or examining the ecology and natural history of many fascinating places around the world.
CUSTOMIZED INDEPENDENT STUDY

You choose the subject matter and the scope and length of your project.

Our Customized Independent Study Program will provide you a simple, academically sound structure to use your professional projects to obtain university credit.
Available in 2, 3 or 5 quarter hour credit classes at the 400 or 500 level.
